A Comprehensive Approach to Psychedelic Enhanced Psychotherapy.

Psychedelic Enhanced Psychotherapy

Psychedelic Enhanced Psychotherapy (PEP) offers an alternative approach to mental health treatment, integrating traditional therapeutic techniques with the controlled use of psychedelic substances. Gateway Wellness Collective’s Katty Larocque is the first Registered Psychotherapist in North Bay, ON to offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder.

Mental health challenges can create a sense of imbalance—affecting the mind, the self, and connections with others. Ketamine helps reconnect these pathways by repairing and strengthening neural connections. This rewiring of brain circuits affected by depression, anxiety, and PTSD creates the foundation for deeper healing and more powerful therapy outcomes.

The Power of Support in Healing

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it thrives in connection. A strong circle of care, including therapists, medical professionals, and supportive loved ones, is essential in this process therefore we require that your medical doctor or nurse practitioner be a part of the process.

As ketamine helps rewire the brain, a compassionate support system provides the guidance and stability needed to turn these changes into lasting transformation.

Getting Started

In order to get started with PEP, we require a referral that can be sent to our psychiatrist to ensure suitability.

The treatment protocol used at Gateway Wellness Collective is called the Therapeutic Reset of Internal Process (TRIP). Clients suitable for PEP will follow the 5-step TRIP process:

  1. Assessment

  2. Consultation

  3. Treatment Planning

  4. Ketamine Session

  5. Session Analysis

  6. Integration

    • Set: Your emotional state, intentions, and expectations influence how the experience unfolds. Being open and surrendering to the experience is the best way to approach your session.

During Analysis, the Registered Psychotherapist works with the client to evaluate the themes or core beliefs that came up during the session and then match them with therapeutic approaches. Clients then discuss their thoughts, feelings, and reflections of what they went through during their session.
